The importance of sleep

Sleep is something most people tend to disregard. The one time you'll see an improvement in your goal, whether this is fat loss or weight gain is through rest and recovery i.e. Sleep!

Quite often we've seen people starting off in the gym by doing 4+ sessions a week with plenty of cardio and complain that they aren't making any progress. Now this is linked with stress, due to the fact that if you aren't recovering correctly or sleeping enough you wake up the next morning, tired... this then affects your day. You may not get as much done as you've hoped, this stresses you out, you then either, don't want to go to the gym and miss it... or do the gym but are severely tired, you then go to bed stressed and don't have a good night sleep once again. The next day the same happens etc.

The body typically repairs itself the last 2-3 hours of sleep, if your not getting enough sleep or recovery don't expect to see results. Take a de load week, work out what stresses are causing you to sleep poorly. Zinc and magnesium capsules are a brilliant way for a supplement to help aid with sleep and recovery! Make sure your making the most of what you do outside of the gym, as well as inside the gym!
