Which form of cardio is optimal for me?

A question often asked to us is, "what type of cardio should I do?"

This is very dependant on what type of cardio you WANT to do. 400 Calories on the treadmill, is identical to 400 Calories on the Bike, cross trainer, rower etc.

Now admittedly there are different forms of cardio mainly HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) or LISS (Low Intensity Steady State). Traditionally we prefer using LISS mainly down to the fact that HIIT involves going all out hell for leather for a period of time (around 30 seconds usually) and then recovering for a minute or two.

The difference is, most people cannot push themselves to the absolute limit for 30 seconds and be able to repeat it another 5-10 times!
Some people consider it as walking for 2 minutes on a treadmill and then increasing the speed to a fast run for 30 seconds, the truth is for that 30 seconds you need to go absolutely 110% all out, recover, and then go again!

LISS involves keeping at a steady pace for a certain amount of time, or distance (more often than not, until a set amount of calories have been burned).
